Former Terrier Brandon Stanley Commits to Niagara University

Former Terrier and 2016 Turnbull Cup champion Brandon Stanley has committed to play NCAA Division I Hockey for Niagara University in the fall of 2018.

As an 18 year old the Sioux Lookout native was part of the 2015/16 Terriers, playing in 54 games and put up 35 points.

Last season Stanley played for the Philadelphia Rebels of the NAHL by way of the Waywayseecappo Wolverines MJHL.

Stanley was fifth on the team with thirty-two points (18 goals and 14 assists) during the regular season. He led the team with nine points in eight playoff games. He also led the team in postseason goals with 5.

Brandon recalls his time in Portage. “Portage was some of the best times of my life thus far. From the coaching staff, to the community, to the boys and my billets, everything was just so close.

The amount of support you have in Portage is second to none and the team is competitive every single year. You can’t ask for much more than that.  I would have liked nothing more than to spend my entire Junior career as a Terrier.

I just want to thank the people of Portage for making me feel at home when I was there. I’m excited for this next chapter, but I will always remember my time in Portage.” – Brandon Stanley 20

We wish Brandon good luck on his bright future.
