Portage Falls Short in OT

Terriers were in Swan tonight looking for their second win of the weekend. This is their 4th meeting of the season, Swan winning the last two match ups.

Portage was off to a great start with plenty of chances and two powerplays in the first they were unable to capitalize on. The Stampeders also had their chances with a minute and a half 5 on 3, Peterson making some key save saves.

Both teams looking for the scoreboard in the third after a scoreless 2nd frame. Regulation ended with a 0-0 tie despite the Terriers number one powerplay having six minutes in the third.

It took just 21 seconds of overtime to decide the winner. Tripp breaking up a cross ice pass on the 2 on 1 sent Osadick down to score on Peterson, the puck trickling just through his arm.

Peterson was solid in tonight’s effort backing 33 shots.

Portage welcomes Dauphin to Stride place this Wednesday, game time 7:30pm.
