The Portage Terriers struggled to find the back of the net despite plenty of chances, falling 4-2 to the Swan Valley Stampeders on Friday night.
A physical affair saw several penalties exchanged in the first period, but no goals. Portage goalie Logan Cunningham made 7 saves, and Easton Falls made 17 on the other side.
The teams would exchange goals in the second period, as Swan Valley would capitalize on a bounce. However, Trevor Hill would add to his league-leading goal total, a one-timer to notch his 31st of the season.
Hill would add another late in the third period, but it wasn’t enough, as Swan Valley would add three, including an empty netter, and made it a 4-2 final score.
The team won’t have time to think about it though, as they head to Steinbach on Saturday night for a makeup game against the Pistons. Puck drop is scheduled for 8 p.m.
