Terriers Win 5th in a Row

Portage won their second game in as many night beating the Neepawa Natives 4-2 at Stride Place tonight.

Neepawa opened the scoring with a lucky bounce from behind the net that went in off a player in front.  Rylee Zimmer answered a few minutes later for his 5th goal in 3 games to keep his scoring streak alive since being traded to the Terriers.  Moments later Jeremey Leipsic made the most of an out of position Robert to give Portage a one goal lead.

Ashton Anderson tied the game at 19:50 finding himself in alone and sliding it 5 hole on Aiken. With .3 seconds left in the frame Brown scored what would be the game winner.

Tempers flared in the second with 38 minutes in penalties handed out. The period was scoreless with Portage outshooting Neepawa 10-4.

Jeremey Leipsic scored his second of the game making no mistake on a perfect pass in front from James McIsaac to add insurance.

Brock Aiken picked up the win in net making 17 saves on the night.

Next up the Terriers head to Selkirk Tuesday evening for their first meeting of the season with the 5th place Steelers. These Steelers are currently riding a 7 game winning streak.
