Terriers Take Home Hardware at WCC Player’s Award Banquet

The host committee held the annual Players Awards Dinner tonight with former NHL’er Chico Resch as MC and keynote speaker. Chico spoke to the players about development and told stories of his days with the Islanders, Rockies, Devils and Flyers.

Brad Bowles and Brett Orr took home some hardware tonight as Brett was named Top Defencemen of the tournament while Brad was named MVP. Both players were also named as one of six All Stars.

Rookie Chase Brakel was also recognized for his academic achievement with a Jostens CJHL $500 Scholarship.

Recipients of the other awards were as follows;

Top Scorer – Brett Mennear, West Kelowna and Tyrell Mappin, Brooks Bandits

Top Forward – Jeff Malott, Brooks Bandits

Top Goalie – Garret Hughson, Brooks Bandits

The Terriers play the Melfort Mustangs in the 3/4 game tomorrow at 2:00pm at Affinity Place to see who will play Sunday for a spot in the RBC Cup. Fans can listen to the game on CFRY 920.
