Terriers Make it Three in a Row

Taylor scores the game winner and his first MJHL goal.

Terriers win their 3rd in a row as they down Swan Valley 7-1 at the PCU Centre on Wednesday night.

The first period started off slow for both teams as the 20 minutes passed without a goal and only 12 shots registered.

Leipsic opened the scoring just 48 seconds in to the 2nd finishing a pass from Lycar and beating Slipp. Just a few minutes later Portage’s own Lane Taylor scored his first MJHL goal and the eventual game winner. Vaeth scored for Swan beating Aiken to cut the lead in half, but that would be the last for the Stampeders. Sokoloski and Bliid added to the Terriers lead both scoring on breakaways to finish the period up 4-1.

Leipsic, McPhee and Hendrix would all add markers of their own in the 3rd for the 7-1 final. McPhee picking up his first as a Terrier.

Aiken picked up the win with 16 saves while Slipp recorded the loss facing a total of 30 shots.

The Terriers are on the road Friday for their first meeting of the season with Neepawa. You can catch the game on CFRY or watch it on Fast Hockey.
